285. Deputy Willie O'Dea asked the Minister for Finance if he will consider extending the licence for on-course bookmakers by year in view of the large loss in income they have sustained as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21560/20]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe licensing period for bookmakers is over a two year fixed period, with a licensing fee of €500. The current licence period runs from 1 December 2019 to 30 November 2021. As licences are not up for renewal until the end November next year, at this point in time there is no requirement to consider their extension.
