109. Deputy Brendan Griffin asked the Minister for Education if support and assistance will be provided to the teaching and ancillary staff of a school (details supplied) in County Kerry following its closure; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [23044/20]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am aware of the closure of the college referred to by the Deputy and of the difficulty that this may present for the pupils and teachers involved. My Department is available to support any students who were due to enrol in the college and who are unable to source an alternative school place for this school year.
In relation to teacher and ancillary staff, private second level schools do not fall within the remit of my Department, and as such, provision for employees of such schools will be a matter for the management authority of the school concerned.
