Deputy Paul Murphy asked the Minister for Transport if he will consider adding a provision to the taxi regulations that would allow taxi and small public service vehicle owner-drivers to suspend their taxi plate for a year due to the current collapse of the trade in view of Covid-19 restrictions, and be able to reactivate their plate after a year without extra penalties or costs over and above a nominal administration fee.
