Ceisteanna (32)

Colm Burke

Ceist:

32. Deputy Colm Burke asked the Minister for Transport if the period of time will be extended for taxis to be registered and issued with taxi licences in cases where the vehicles were imported prior to 28 February 2020, but it has not been possible to register them due to Covid before the six year rule for registration applies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The regulation of the small public service vehicle (SPSV) industry, including the licensing of SPSVs, is a matter for the National Transport Authority (NTA) under the provisions of the Taxi Regulation Act 2013.

Given the role of the NTA as regulator, I have referred your question to the Authority for direct reply to you. Please advise my private office if you do not receive a response within 10 working days

A referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Order 51
