Deputy Niamh Smyth asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform the status of and the expected completion date for construction works at the new Bailieborough Garda station and the reopening of Bawnboy Garda station, County Cavan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraTenders have been invited for the construction of Bailieborough Garda Station and it is hoped that the procurement process will be concluded in quarter 2 this year. Construction will take about 20 months.
Tender submissions for the refurbishment of Bawnboy Garda Station are being evaluated. The works will take about 3 months after a contract is placed.
