1986. Deputy Matt Carthy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if his attention has been drawn to the fact that scrapie is causing issues in the movement of animals between Ireland and Northern Ireland; the actions his Department is taking to address such matters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Under the Northern Ireland Protocol, Northern Ireland is treated as if it were a Member State of the European Union and the same rules continue to apply to scrapie controls as have done for the past number of years.
