Deputy Jennifer Whitmore asked the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of women’s refuge centres nationwide and on a per capita basis; the amount of funding that has been provided for a women’s refuge for each county in the past five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Tusla, the Child and Family Agency has statutory responsibility for the care and protection of victims of domestic, sexual and gender-based violence (DGSBV). I have requested Tusla to respond to the Deputy directly on the information sought.
