704. Deputy Claire Kerrane asked the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage the measures in place for reviewing the employment practices of State-related providers, for example, the ESB. [18733/21]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the State bodies and other service providers, such as the local authorities, under the aegis of my Department are employing organisations in their own right, responsibility for their employment practices rests, in the first instance, with themselves, in accordance with employment law. This is supplemented by the State's industrial relations machinery, including the Workplace Relations Commission, which delivers a workplace relations service and employment rights framework for employers and employees.
In view of the foregoing, my Department does not routinely review employment practices in the employing organisations under its aegis.
