Amharc ar fhreagraNursing home care is provided through a mixture of public, voluntary and private provision. Under the Health Act, 2007, all nursing homes must register with the Health Information and Quality Authority. At present HIQA has advised the Department that there are 31,950 beds (long-stay and short-stay) registered with the Authority. This information may be subject to minor change, as further notices of decision are issued in response to applications to vary, register or renew registration for nursing homes between now and the end of the year.
