Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the estimated amount spent by his Department on the procurement, purchase and rent of new office space; and the amount spent on the procurement, purchase and rent of office equipment in each of the past ten years and to date in 2021. Amharc ar fhreagraOffice space for my Department and its Offices is provided by the Office of Public Works (OPW) in buildings which are either State owned or leased by the OPW on our behalf. Therefore, my Department does not own, purchase or rent office space.
My Department works closely with OPW colleagues to ensure that the provision of such office space is appropriate, fit-for-purpose and every effort is made to optimise the physical space that is made available to us through the OPW.
Regarding the amount spent on the procurement, purchase and rent of office equipment by my Department and its Offices for each year over the past decade, bearing in mind the scope of the question it is not yet possible to provide the Deputy with the details requested within the timeframe specified.
