Deputy Mick Barry asked the Minister for Health if he will report on the length of delays caused in the processing of medical cards; the measures taken to eliminate the delays; if he will consider allowing those with expired cards to continue to use them pending the processing of their application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraThe Health Service Executive (HSE) National Medical Card Unit (NMCU) has responsibility for the processing of medical card applications. As this is a service matter, I have asked the Health Service Executive to respond to the deputy directly, as soon as possible.
