Ceisteanna (220)

Claire Kerrane

Ceist:

220. Deputy Claire Kerrane asked the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media if weddings that were scheduled ahead of the most recent updates to public health guidelines but fall after this date, will be exempted from the midnight curfew on hospitality and nightlife; the mechanisms that are in place to ensure those couples that have scheduled their weddings in line with guidance at that time experience as little disruption as possible while complying with public health advice; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Following public health advice, the government agreed a range of measures aimed at interrupting the spread of COVID-19 in the community. These measures include midnight closing time which, as set out on Gov.ie, applies equally to all on-licensed premises and all functions therein, including weddings, irrespective of when they were first planned or booked.
