504. Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Justice the number of drink driving offences recorded in the Kildare division in 2020 and to date in 2021; and the number of drug driving offences excluding alcohol offences over the same period. [61284/21]
Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, under the Garda Síochána Act 2005, the Garda Commissioner is responsible by law for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána, including the enforcement of road traffic legislation. As Minister for Justice, I have no direct role in these matters.
The following table, furnished to me by the Garda authorities, provides a yearly breakdown of the number of incidents of drink and drug driving offences that occurred in the Kildare Division in 2020 and to date in 2021.

I am advised that the 2021 figures are based on incidents which occurred from 1 January 2021 to 30 November 2021, inclusive. I am further advised that these figures are based upon operational data from the Garda PULSE system as was available on 1 December 2021, and is liable to change.
