137. Deputy Cormac Devlin asked the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform his plans to review the allocation and utilisation of national lottery funding; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20328/22]
Amharc ar fhreagraFunding raised by the National Lottery plays a very important role in supporting a range of good causes at national, regional and community level. In order to sustain this funding into the future I consider it important that there is a robust and transparent processes for its allocation. I have accordingly commissioned an external review of the process for allocation of lottery funding, to examine the current system, and to identify any principles which might underpin a new process of allocation. The review process provides for consultation with lottery grant recipients and other key stakeholders, which is underway at present. The review will also draw on international practice and is scheduled to conclude later this quarter.
