Deputy Catherine Murphy asked the Minister for Education if she will provide an update in respect of a school (details supplied) in County Meath; her plans to ensure this school is ready to open for the 2023/2024 academic year; and if she has encountered delays in the schedule of works to date. Amharc ar fhreagraThe permanent accommodation for the school referred to by the Deputy is being delivered under my Department’s Design and Build Programme. This delivery programme uses a professional external Project Management team to progress the project through the stages of architectural planning, tendering and construction.
It is anticipated that the project for the school referred to by the Deputy will be included in the next bundle of projects to proceed to tender later this year. In the interim, my Department will continue to liaise with the school's patron body in relation to the school’s accommodation needs pending delivery of the permanent accommodation.
