Deputy Holly Cairns asked the Minister for Health the percentage of social media videos posted on each of his Departmental social media accounts or the social media accounts of public bodies and agencies that operate under his remit included closed captioning and or subtitling between 1 May 2021 and 30 April 2022, inclusive; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraBetween May 2021 and April 2022, the number of videos from my Department from the @RoinnSlainte accounts on social media were as follows:
- 78 videos posted on Twitter, 10% did not have captions (8 videos)
- 57 videos posted on Facebook, 8.7% did not have captions (5 videos)
- 45 videos posted on Instagram, 11% did not have captions (5 videos)
My Department is committed to ensuring important messages are accessible and use the National Disability Authority Communication Toolkit for Public Service as a guide on best practice.
In addition, I am referring the Deputy's question to the HSE to allow for a response regarding HSE social media accounts.
