My attendance at this year's World Economic Forum (WEF) in January involved engagements with global CEOs of existing multinationals already in Ireland, as well as CEOs of potential future FDI companies as follows:
• Astra Zeneca - Pam Cheng (Global Operations and Information Technology and Chief Sustainability Officer) and Marc Dunoyer (Chief Strategy Officer).
• PayPal - Richard Nash (Head of Public Policy).
• Anthropic - Sarah Heck (Head of Policy Planning).
• CISCO - Oliver Tuszik (President for EMEA).
• TikTok - Christine Grahn (VP Public Policy) and Adam Presser (Chief Operations Officer).
• CocaCola - Michael Goltzman (SVP Global Policy and Sustainability).
• Liberty Global - Manuel Kohnstamm (Chief Corporate Affairs Officer) and,
• Orsted - Rasmus Errboe (Deputy CEO).
Participation each year at the WEF represents another opportunity for Ireland – at both political and IDA levels - to engage with leading multinational companies, as well as leading policymakers and influential economic thinkers, in support of retaining and growing the FDI base across Ireland, and driving further innovation across our island. In my engagements, I emphasised Ireland’s capabilities as a strong, vibrant economy that is well-placed to manage external shocks, while also highlighting how our educated and talented workforce can make a unique contribution to innovation and development for FDI companies located in Ireland.
