Regional development is a key element of Government's enterprise policy, as set out in the Programme for Government and the White Paper on Enterprise, and is a key focus of the work of my Department and IDA Ireland. In this respect, IDA Ireland recently launched its new five-year strategy 2025–2029 Adapt Intelligently: A Strategy for Sustainable Growth and Innovation, which seeks to build on its achievements to date and to support continued long-term investment through the transformation of the existing client base across Ireland and leveraging new opportunities and sectors.
IDA Ireland ensures that the South-East Region is a competitive, attractive location for investment. Continued Government support for property solutions and enabling infrastructure remains critical to securing new FDI and supporting existing client company growth. To this end, the IDA Regional Property Programme ensures the supply of land, buildings and infrastructure in regional locations as required by current and prospective clients of the IDA itself, as well as Enterprise Ireland and the LEOs. IDA Ireland also maintains a focus on landbanks and utility-intensive strategic sites to future-proof the ability of their property portfolio to support the project pipeline. On this basis, IDA Ireland actively engages with local authorities including Kilkenny County Council, consultants, agents, utility providers and other regional stakeholders. IDA Ireland also works closely with the private sector in the South-East region in marketing of appropriate and cost-effective property solutions that meet the needs of their client companies.
