Fourteen Bills have been published in the second month of 2018, comprising two Government Bills and twelve Private Members’ Bills.
Two Bills to enable the Arts Council to ensure that funding is contingent on compliance with employment law have been brought before forward, one before each House of the Oireachtas.
Other issues addressed by the Bills brought forward in February include gambling control, consumer protection, public safety during extreme weather and the installation of defibrillators in schools. There is also a Bill to provide maternity leave for Oireachtas Members. One of the Bills, the Public Service Superannuation (Amendment) Act 2018, has been enacted.
