The Dáil100 Experience exhibition and tour will take place in Leinster House this weekend, 19 and 20 January. The actors who will represent stages of Irish social and cultural life as part of the tour visited Leinster House yesterday, where they were welcomed by the Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl.
The Dáil100 Experience will showcase the history of Leinster House and the evolution of Irish democracy through the decades.
It will be followed on Monday, 21 January by a special centenary sitting of Dáil Éireann in the Mansion House, Dublin. On 21 January 1919, the First Dáil held its first public sitting. The elected members who gathered there declared Ireland to be a Republic and a sovereign independent state.
