The Oireachtas Library & Research Service (L&RS) has become a partner in the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) public fellowship programme.

The SFI public service fellowship is a new pilot initiative from which offers researchers a unique opportunity to be temporarily seconded to public and civil service organisations to work on specific projects.

The researcher assigned to the L&RS will identify and analyse key issues relevant to policy and legislative agenda items under the theme “responding to climate change and sustainability”. The outputs of this research will be used to directly inform Members of issues and emerging research relevant to the Oireachtas. The outputs will also assist the L&RS to deliver on its topical research programme, horizon scanning activities and its engagement programme to connect academic research and expertise to the information needs of Oireachtas Members.

The deadline for applications is 1pm on Saturday, 16 November 2019.
