How the Dáil is sitting during the Covid-19 pandemic

While the Covid-19 pandemic continues, the Dáil is meeting in Leinster House but continues to hold some sittings in the Convention Centre Dublin in order to allow full attendance for votes on legislation.

While most sittings are being held in the Dáil Chamber in Leinster House, numbers are restricted to allow for physical distancing. Divisions of the House on motions can take place in the Dáil Chamber in Leinster House with this reduced attendance.

However, for divisions of the House on legislation, the votes will be held in the Convention Centre where all Members can attend in a safe, physically distanced manner. This is to ensure there is no undue risk of legal challenge to legislation passed during the pandemic.
