The Oireachtas Library has published an open metadata dataset of all the documents laid before the Houses since 1922.
More than 86,000 documents were laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas between 1922 and 2019. This new dataset allows researchers to get a unique overview of the work of successive governments, parliaments and public bodies throughout the life of the State.
Documents Laid are documents that are formally submitted to the Houses of the Oireachtas to support the democratic process. These include regulations and orders, financial statements and annual reports from Departments, Committees and public bodies.
The dataset was analysed by Professor Derek Greene, a funded investigator at the SFI Insight Centre for Data Analytics.
