Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage to discuss updates on local government audit reports

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 17 May, to discuss updates on local government audit reports.

The meeting at 3pm in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House will be split into two sessions.

  • 3pm-4.30pm – Update on National Oversight Audit Commission’s 2021 Annual Report with representatives from the National Oversight & Audit Commission (NOAC).
  • 4.30pm-6pm – Update on Local Government Audit Service Report with representatives from the Local Government Audit Service (LGAS).

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy Steven Matthews said: “The NOAC is responsible for the scrutiny and oversight of local government bodies, while the LGAS audits the annual financial statements of local authorities, including regional authorities, motor taxation offices and other bodies. The Committee looks forward to engaging with both bodies on their latest annual reports and related matters.”

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
