Just to remind you that the Houses of the Oireachtas Library & Research service compiled detailed profiles of the State’s 43 electoral constituency in 2009.
Those using the profiles should be aware that some constituency boundaries have changed. However, the information may be an informative for the media in their analysis of the constituencies.
The profiles were brought together in order to provide present and prospective elected public representatives, voters and analysts with information on the characteristics and distinctive features of individual constituencies.
The profiles were developed by the Oireachtas Library & Research Service in 2009 and were based on Census 2006 figures. The publication compiled for the first time, profiles of all forty-three Dáil constituencies. The profiles outlined specific social, economic and political data unique to each constituency. By including data on key metrics such as nationality, education, employment, housing and demographics the profiles offered a detailed picture of the distinct make-up and traits of each constituency based on Census 2006 figures.
