Joint Administration Committee Chair and Vice-Chair elected

Tipperary South TD, Tom Hayes was today elected to the position of chairman of the Oireachtas Joint Administration Committee.

Jerry Buttimer TD for Cork South Central was elected to the Vice-Chair position.

Speaking on his election, Deputy Hayes said “ I thank my colleagues for electing me to the position of Chairperson and I look forward to the work that this committee will carry out .One of our objectives and priorities will be to look at how accessible Leinster House is to the general public and how we can improve and enhance that access for the good of all”.

The Joint Administration Committee represents the views of members of both Houses on provision of services for and by the Houses generally and may make recommendations to the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission regarding the following; secretarial and other facilities, library and research services; legal advice services, Accommodation and facilities, Communications Services and broadcasting.
