Minister Shatter to Attend Oireachtas Committee to Consider Estimates for Dept of Justice and Equality

11 July 2011 Minister for Justice, Equality and Defence, Alan Shatter TD will attend a meeting of the Oireachtas Select Committee on Justice, Defence and Equality tomorrow, 12th at 1:30 pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House.

The purpose of the meeting is for the Committee to consider the 2011 revised estimates for public services for the Department of Justice and Equality. These estimates outline the overall proposed expenditure by the Department and give information on the sectors in which the money will be spent.

Among the issues due for consideration are expenditure on;

Justice and Equality
Garda Siochana
Prisons
The Court Service
The Property Regulation Authority

Following these deliberations, Minister Shatter will then address the revised estimate for Public Services on Defence and Army Pension.
