Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement to meet with Parades Commission

16 Samh 2011, 15:53

The Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement will meet with the Parades Commission, tomorrow Thursday 17 November 2011 at 11.45 a.m. in Committee Room 4, Leinster House.

Deputy Dominic Hannigan, Chair of the Joint Committee said “I look forward to meeting with members of the Parades Commission and hearing first hand of the important work they do relating to contentious parades throughout the year in Northern Ireland. The very existence of a Parades Commission has contributed to the reduction in the number of contentious parades which now numbers less than ten in any given year. I also welcome the opportunity that this meeting gives to Members of the committee and to the Parades Commission to discuss issues of mutual concern”

The meeting will take place at 11.45 a.m. in Committee Room 4, Leinster House. Committee proceedings can be followed live at
