Dr. Mary Robinson to address Seanad Éireann

Dr. Mary Robinson, President of the Mary Robinson Foundation- Climate Justice, former Senator, President of Ireland and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights will address Seanad Éireann tomorrow Thursday 24 November 2011 at 11.45 a.m.

Cathaoirleach of the Seanad, Senator Paddy Burke said “This Seanad is determined to modernise its procedures and actively engage with civic society. In this regard we have changed Standing Orders to allow persons and representatives of public and civil life to address Seanad Éireann. We are delighted that Dr. Mary Robinson, a person of such reputation and achievement at home and abroad has agreed to speak to the Seanad under the new rules”.

Dr. Robinson will address the House on the Importance of the Seanad to her in her career as a Human Rights Activist.
