Social Protection Committee to discuss pensions

14 Noll 2016, 15:19

The Committee on Social Protection will focus on pensions at its meeting tomorrow, Thursday 15 December 2016 when it meets with officials from the Department of Social Protection.

Committee Chairman John Curran said: “Pensions were a key issue identified and prioritised by the Committee in our work programme. Tomorrow we will meet with officials from the Department of Social Welfare to get an overview and update on the current situation regarding pensions and pension-related issues. There has been much concern in recent times in regard to various pension-related issues, overall pension coverage and sustaining pensions systems into the future. Based on the overview from the Department, the Committee will then identify key areas of concern, specific issues and potential witnesses for future meetings on this important topic.”

This Committee will meet at 10am in Committee Room 4 tomorrow, Thursday, 15 December 2016,
