20 Feabh 2017, 14:16

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 21 February at 4pm in Committee Room 3.

20 February 2017

The meeting will take place in two sessions:

Matters relating to the banking sector (resumed)

Session A: 4 p.m. - Mr Larry Broderick, Financial Services Union (FSU).

Session B: 5.30 p.m. - Mr Padraig Kissane, Financial Advisor.

Committee Chairman, John McGuinness TD, said, “Our meeting tomorrow will focus on a wide variety of issues such as matters relating to interest rates, mortgage arrears, regulation of private equity firms and developments at EU level in relation to Banking Union. Larry Broderick has been General Secretary of the FSU since 2001; employed by the Union since 1985 and has wide experience in industrial relations and the financial services sector. Following our engagement with Mr. Broderick, we will be addressed by Mr. Padraig Kissane. He is an expert in the area of tracker mortgages and has cases under review with most of the big Irish lenders. The fair treatment of tracker mortgage debtors has been a key policy focus for our Committee, so we look forward to further engagement on this matter.”
