Social Protection Committee resumes hearings on pensions

The Committee on Social Protection Restructuring will continue its hearings on pensions when it meets with representatives from Age Action Ireland tomorrow, Thursday, 4 May 2017.

Committee Chairman John Curran said: “Tomorrow, we will resume our hearings on pensions which were a key issue identified and prioritised by the Committee in our work programme.  There has been much concern in recent times in regard to various pension-related issues, overall pension coverage and sustaining pensions systems into the future. Tomorrow we will meet with representatives from Age Action Ireland, the national independent organisation on ageing and older people, to get that organisation’s perspectives on the current and future pension issues.”

The Committee will commence in public session at 10.45am in Committee Room 1 tomorrow, Thursday 4 May 2017.

Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
