Finance Committee to meet with pillar banks

Bank of Ireland representative will appear before Committee

The Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 21 September at 9.30am in Committee Room 2, Leinster House.

The agenda is as follows:

(i) Scrutiny of EU Proposal: Schedule A (Priority Proposal) COM(2017)335; and

(ii) Matters relating to the Banking Sector [Mr. Liam McLoughlin CEO, Retail, Bank of Ireland]

Committee Chairman, John McGuinness TD, says, “Our Committee will commence hearings with the pillar banks tomorrow and Mr Liam McLoughlin, CEO of Retail, Bank of Ireland, will appear before the Committee.  This engagement will focus on Bank of Ireland’s future strategy and in particular customer service plans, the tracker mortgage issue, including redress for customers, mortgage interest rates and arrears, IT services and overall regulation within the banking sector.”

Prior to the session on banking, the Committee will commence scrutiny of EU Proposal: Schedule A (Priority Proposal) COM(2017)335.
