Jobs Committee to resume discussion of Atypical Scheme

The Joint Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation will meet tomorrow at 2pm in Committee Room 1, Leinster House. The Committee will resume its discussion of the situation of non-EEA crew in the Irish Fishing Fleet under the Atypical Worker Permission Scheme.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Session A: [Representatives of Irish South and West Fish Producers Organisation, Irish Fish Producers Organisation, Irish South and East Fish Producers Organisation, The Killybegs Fishermen’s Organisation, and National Inshore Fisheries Forum]

Session B: [Representatives of Sea Fisheries Protection Authority, Naval Service, and Marine Survey Office]

Session C: [Representatives of the Workplace Relations Commission and the Health and Safety Authority]

Committee Chair, Mary Butler TD, said, “Tomorrow’s meeting is our second on the issue of non-EEA fishers in the Irish fishing industry. Our engagement with witnesses tomorrow will allow Committee Members to further examine the Atypical Scheme with a particular emphasis on working conditions and agreements.”
