Employment Affairs & Social Protection Committee continues hearings on JobPath

21 Márta 2018, 16:05

The Joint Committee on Employment Affairs and Social Protection will resume its examination of the employment activation measure JobPath at its meeting on Thursday, 22 March 2018.

Committee Chairman John Curran TD said: “Tomorrow, we will resume our hearings on JobPath, the labour activation measure which caters mainly for people who are long-term unemployed, over 12 months, to assist them to secure and sustain full-time paid employment or self-employment. We will meet with members of the Irish Local Development Network which was established in 2010 to represent all Local Development Companies throughout Ireland. They also deliver a range of other initiatives at national and European level that enhance the development of their communities through enterprise, training, activation, educational, health and community supports. Given the role of the network in urban, rural and island communities, we will be keen to get their perspective on the JobPath scheme and if it is assisting participants in securing full-time work.”

This meeting will start at 10.30am on Thursday, 22 March 2018 in Committee Room 4, Leinster House. Committee proceedings can be viewed live here.

Committee proceedings can also be viewed on the move, through the Houses of the Oireachtas Smartphone App, available for Apple and Android devices.
