Transport Committee to examine plans for Dublin Core Bus Corridors

Scheduled witnesses include NTA Chief Executive Anne Graham and Deputy Chief Executive Hugh Creegan.

The NTA has begun a phased public consultation on a plan that envisages creating 16 corridors covering 230 kilometres of bus routes. The four proposed routes subject to current public consultation connect the city centre with Blanchardstown, Clongriffin, Lucan and Swords.

“All stakeholders involved can agree that Dublin’s traffic congestion requires urgent reform and new thinking,” said Committee Chairman Fergus O’Dowd TD.

“The proposed overhaul of Dublin Bus routes has generated much debate. The Committee looks forward to examining the NTA plans, assessing their potential impact on the capital’s congestion and connectivity, and gathering more information about the public consultation process," Deputy O'Dowd said.
