Health Committee to resume PLS on General Scheme of the Assisted Human Reproduction Bill

The Joint Committee on Health will meet at 9am in CR4 tomorrow

The Committee will return to Pre-Legislative Scrutiny on the General Scheme of the Assisted Human Reproduction Bill 2017. 

The following witnesses will appear before the Committee:

• Professor Deirdre Madden, School of Law, UCC;
• Professor Nóirín Hayes, School of Education, TCD;
• Representatives from the National Infertility Support and Information Group;
• Dr. Joanna Rose;
• Ms. Emma O’Friel;

Chairperson of the Health Committee, Dr Michael Harty TD said today, “The Assisted Human Reproduction (AHR) Bill is a complex piece of draft legislation and one that aims to both provide for the regulation of a range of practices and protect parents and children. Tomorrow, the Committee will continue its PLS of the bill and will hear from experts in law, education and advocacy, as well as Dr Joanna Rose, who was born as a result of assisted reproductive technology. Dr Rose is expected to provide the Committee with an insight into donor conception.”
