Petitions Committee to consider petitions on motor tax refunds, unfair contracts, labour rights for immigrant workers’ spouses

29 Ean 2019, 11:50

On Wednesday, Jan. 30, at 1:30 p.m., the Joint Committee on Public Petitions will consider three petitions dealing with motor tax refunds for higher-band vehicles when they are not being used, enforcement of the 1993 EU directive governing unfair consumer contracts, and support for holders of Stamp 3 visas for the right to work.

“The Petition Committee’s mission is to give members of the public a role in placing issues of concern directly before the Oireachtas,” said Committee Chairman Seán Sherlock TD. “This week’s petitions will be examined for their compliance with Standing Orders, and decisions will be given in public session.”

The meeting in Committee Room 1 can be viewed live here.
