Finance Committee to discuss Framework for Accountability in Banking Sector

11 Márta 2019, 13:02

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform, and Taoiseach will resume its examination of a future Framework for Accountability in the Banking Sector on Tuesday, March 12, at 2 p.m.

Scheduled witnesses include Maurice Crowley, acting chief executive of the Banking and Payments Federation of Ireland. Officials from the Department of Finance will attend a second session starting at approximately 4:15 p.m.

“The Committee is keen to identify potential policies, structures and practices that would make financial institutions more accountable and transparent in how they operate,” said Committee Chairman John McGuinness TD. “The Committee already has listened to the views of the Law Reform Commission. Today’s engagement with key stakeholders will further assist the Committee in its consideration of this important topic.”
