Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government to discuss the reclassification and future output of Approved Housing Bodies

The Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government will meet tomorrow (Thursday) at 9.30am in Committee Room 1, Leinster House to to discuss and examine the reclassification and future output of Approved Housing Bodies (AHBs).

Members will hear from officials from the the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government and the Department of Finance. The Committee has previously met on the subject on 8 February 2018 and 2 July 2019.

Spending by AHBs was reclassified as Government spending following a decision by Eurostat in March.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Chairman Noel Rock TD said: “The Committee looks forward to hearing from both Departments on the impact and implications for the future output of Approved Housing Bodies of the decision to reclassify the spending as Government spending.”
