Ceann Comhairle of Dáil Éireann, Seán Ó Fearghaíl TD, has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Gay Byrne who passed away today.
Ceann Comhairle Seán Ó Fearghaíl said: “On behalf of the Houses of the Oireachtas I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of Gay Byrne at this time. Gay was a colossus of Irish public service broadcasting who touched the lives of generations of people.
“There is immense parliamentary support for the family of Gay Byrne, his work across radio and television was impactful. Gay was respected the length and breadth of the country, and his work spanned many important areas of current affairs, human interest and politics.”
