The Environmental Protection Agency will appear before the Joint Committee on Communications, Climate Action and Environment tomorrow, Tuesday, 12 November following the RTÉ Investigates, “ESB Leaks” programme.

The meeting will take place in Leinster House, Committee room 2 at 3pm.

The EPA launched an investigation, after RTÉ’ Investigates ‘ESB Leaks’ programmed aired on 5 June 2019.  The programme focused on fluid leaks from ESB cables, mainly in Dublin, including areas close to the Royal and Grand Canals.

Speaking before the meeting, Committee chair Hildegarde Naughton TD said: “It’s almost six months since the show was aired. We welcome this opportunity to get an update from the EPA on its investigation into this matter to date, including the ESB’s reporting responsibilities and the environmental impact of the leaks.”
