Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government to continue pre-legislative scrutiny of Land Development Agency Bill 2019

The Joint Committee on Housing, Planning and Local Government will continue pre-legislative scrutiny of the general scheme of the Land Development Agency Bill 2019 tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11am in Committee Room 4, Leinster House.

Members will hear final submissions from officials from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government and representatives from the Land Development Agency (LDA).

The general scheme of the Land Development Agency Bill 2019 was approved by the Government in July to establish the LDA on a legislative basis and set out the objectives and functions of the agency.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Committee Chairman Noel Rock TD said: “Members look forward to engaging with Housing Department officials and the LDA representatives again before we report back to the Dáil and Seanad on this important piece of legislation.”
