Joint Committee on Climate Action to discuss Brexit Omnibus Bill

The Joint Committee on Climate Action will meet tomorrow, Wednesday, 7 October, at 11.30am in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House with officials from the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications to discuss the Brexit Omnibus Bill.

The officials will brief the Committee, chaired by Deputy Brian Leddin, on Part 6 of the Withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (Consequential Provisions) Bill 2020.

Deputy Leddin said: “This is the Committee’s first public meeting and Members look forward to this briefing from the Department officials on the section of the Bill dealing with qualifications to carry out activity dealing with fluorinated greenhouse gases after the UK’s transition period ends on December 31, 2020.”

The Joint Committee on Climate Action has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.
