20 DFómh 2020, 13:31

The Joint Committee on European Union Affairs will discuss Brexit with members of the House of Lords European Union Select Committee at a meeting, tomorrow, Wednesday, 21 October, in Leinster House at 9am.

The meeting of TDs and Senators is taking place in Committee Room 3, with a delegation from the House of Lords EU Select Committee, including its Chair, The Earl of Kinnoull, joining remotely.

Speaking before the meeting, Chairman of the Oireachtas Committee on EU Affairs, Joe McHugh TD said: “The Members of the Oireachtas Committee welcome this opportunity to engage with members of the Houses of Lords EU Select Committee to discuss Brexit, the progress of the Internal Market Bill and inter-parliamentary relations post-Brexit.

“The Select Committee has done extensive work in these areas. It published a report earlier this year on the Ireland/Northern Ireland Protocol. More recently it published a report on the future UK-EU relationship on professional and business services. Only last week, it published a report on its consideration of the Internal Market Bill. Our Committee members look forward to getting the most up to date views of members of the delegation on these matters.”
