Joint Committee on Climate Action continues Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Bill 2020

The Joint Committee on Climate Action will hold two further meetings this week as Members continue Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of the Climate Action and Low Carbon Development (Amendment) Bill 2020.

The Committee will meet at 11.30am on Wednesday, 28 October in Committee Room 3 of Leinster House with Professor John Fitzgerald, Chair of the Climate Advisory Council.

The following day, Thursday, 29 October, the Committee will meet at 2pm in the same venue with Professor Yvonne Buckley, Professor of Zoology at Trinity College Dublin, and Dr James Glynn, MaREI, the SFI Research Centre for Energy, Climate and Marine at UCC.

Committee Chair Deputy Brian Leddin said: “The Committee looks forward to engaging with all our witnesses this week as we continue our Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of this far-reaching Bill which proposes that Ireland moves to a climate neutral economy with net zero emissions by 2050.”

The Joint Committee on Climate Action has 14 Members, nine from the Dáil and five from the Seanad.

The meeting in Committee Room 3 can be viewed live on Oireachtas TV.
