The Joint Committee on Health will get an update on the response to the Covid-19 pandemic from members of the National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) tomorrow, Tuesday, 13 April at a meeting in Leinster House at 12.30pm.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ronan Glynn; Prof Philip Nolan, member of NPHET (President of Maynooth University); and Gerry O’Brien, Director, Health Protection Division, Department of Health will appear before the Committee of TDs and Senators virtually for the discussion.
Committee Chairman Seán Crowe TD said: “The lifting of lockdown restrictions began this week giving hope of a slow return to some sort of normality over the next weeks and months. This is an opportune time for the Committee to meet with members of NPHET and hear the latest projections on the spread of Covid-19, get an update on the testing and tracing system and get details on the roll-out of the vaccine and its impact on hospital admissions and ICU bed availability.”
The meeting is taking place in Committee Room 2. Watch the meeting live.
