The Joint Committee on Disability Matters will resume discussions on the National Disability Inclusion Strategy (NDIS), including consideration of the impact of Covid-19 on persons with disability and progress in implementing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), when it meets tomorrow, Tuesday, 20 April.

Committee Chair Deputy Michael Moynihan said: “These engagements on the twin tracks of the NDIS and the UNCRPD, in consideration of the impact of Covid-19, are a key part of our work programme on these important issues for people with disabilities. Members look forward to hearing the views of the two bodies on Ireland’s implementation of both our domestic disability strategy and our international commitments under the UN Convention.”
