Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage will meet later today with Minister Darragh O’Brien

The Joint Committee on Housing, Local Government and Heritage will meet to discuss a variety of topics, including eviction restrictions, when Minister Darragh O’Brien appears from 7.15pm this evening.

In addition to the impact of COVID-19 on housing, shared equity schemes, housing stock, social and affordable housing will be among the topics for discussion in Committee Room 2, watch live.

The meeting, will hear from the following witnesses.

  • Mr. Darragh O’Brien T.D., Minister of Housing, Local Government & Heritage
  • Mr. Peter Burke T.D., Minister of State for Planning and Local Government 
  • Mr. Malcolm Noonan, T.D., Minister of State for Heritage and Electoral Reform

In advance of the meeting, Committee Chair, Steven Matthews, TD, said: “The Committee looks forward to engaging with the Minister regarding a range of relevant and very topical issues connected to the issue of Housing, which has remained one of the more challenging realities which the country has faced throughout the pandemic. In addition, Housing Delivery, Defective Homes, Affordable Housing and Traveller Accommodation will also be on the agenda.”
