Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform and Taoiseach to discuss legislation on protected disclosures

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform and Taoiseach will meet tomorrow, Thursday, 27 May, with representatives of Transparency International Ireland and journalist Michael Clifford to discuss legislation on protected disclosures.

Ahead of the meeting at 12.30pm in Committee Room 1 of Leinster House, Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy John McGuinness said: “Members welcome this opportunity to discuss with representatives of Transparency International Ireland and Mr Clifford their experiences of existing legislation on protected disclosures and whistleblowing. 

“This engagement is in advance of the Committee deciding whether to undertake Pre-Legislative Scrutiny of the General Scheme of the Protected Disclosures (Amendment) Bill which was referred to the Committee recently by Minister Michael McGrath.”

The Joint Committee on Finance, Public Expenditure and Reform and Taoiseach has 13 Members, nine from the Dáil and four from the Seanad.
